Joshua Smith, the founder of Chicago Playground Legends, intends to help Chicagoland at risk youth and young adults achieve a better lifestyle and goals for themselves.
OUR GOAL
The goal of The Chicago Playground Legends is to partner with the city of Chicago and redevelop high risk urban neighborhoods by acquiring abandoned property for the purpose of hiring individuals who have a criminal record.

Mentoring groups can be formed and trainings offered. It is imperative that we identify and support our youth to ensure that they are able to earn a college education and go back into their community to mentor and support others.
THE SUCCESS OF OUR YOUTH
Research has shown that the success of adolescents is greatly enhanced when there is a connection to the community. There are countless examples of the effectiveness of mentoring programs that support adolescents and guide them to success. It is our intent to compel and organize a group of basketball legends to mentor rising basketball players.
